How do I register for a non-credit course?
Before registering for a course, you will need to create an account or login to an existing account. Select the course from the listing at http://wvu.augusoft.net and click Add to Cart. If you have not logged into your account or you need to create one, you will be prompted before moving on. Follow the screens providing all the information required and submit your payment information.
How to Create a New Household Account
Our registration system recognizes each person registering for a course or event as a "student".
**Please note: Household accounts are used for families living in the same household (parent/child). All electronic email will be sent to the Primary Account Holder (Parent) only.**
1) Complete profile information fields for the Primary Account Holder (Parent). The Primary Account Holder can be, but is not required to be, registering for a course or event.
2) Next, from the Household Profile page, the Primary Account Holder can begin adding family members to the household. Select "adult member" or "youth member" living in the same household and complete the profile information fields.
3) Once all household members are added, return to the "Household Profile" page to register each member of the household in a course(s).
*Remember the login information for this account as it will be needed for future class registrations.
How will I know that my registration has been processed?
You will receive an email from Augusoft Lumens confirming the registration. The payment will be confirmed through the WV State Treasurer's Office if the registration was paid online through Augusoft Lumens. Please check your spam or junk folders in your email account for these emails if they do not appear in your inbox.
What is the cost of a non-credit course(s)?
Classes will vary in cost and will be listed in each class’s details before adding to the cart and checking out.
How long will it take for me to complete a non-credit course?
Most of the non-credit courses are self-paced. The average time for course completion is noted if known. Please make sure you are aware of deadline to submit all coursework for completion with your instructor’s syllabus.
Do I have to be a WVU academic/degree student to take CPE classes?
No. As long as prerequisites for a class are met, anyone can take CPE classes. (Prerequisites are listed on course information web page.)
How many courses may I take at a time?
You choose from one course to as many as you like. Keep in mind that each course has specific objectives and requirements for completion so you may want to pace yourself accordingly.
Are there particular class times when I must be online for the course(s)?
You may work online at times of your own choice. You decide if you participate first thing in the morning or late at night. Reports show that peak times for online students are between 9:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Some courses may require specific times the student needs to login. Those times will be noted in the course.
Can I complete all course work from my home or is there any required time on site?
All online course work may be done from your home. You have no requirement to come to an on-site location unless designated in the description of the course or by the instructor. On-site courses or class observations will be designated in the description of the course.
What does the start date and end date mean on the registration page?
The start date is when the course content is available. The end date is the latest a student can register for that term. Please be aware of registration dates as they may not be the same as the course duration.
All I received was my registration confirmation. How do I access the class?
Student information is submitted to WVU Identity Management for activation of the student's account (WVU Login). The student's username is then submitted to eCampus for course enrollment. The student will be emailed from WVUEnrich@mail.wvu.edu with the Course Access Instructions, Course URL, and how to activate the student's WVU Login account to set a new password. Please allow five (5) business days to receive this information.
Please check the spam or junk folder in your email if you do not receive it within the allotted time table. If you cannot find your access email, please email WVUEnrich@mail.wvu.edu or call 304.293.2834, Opt 3 (for non-credit) for assistance. Hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am-4:30pm EST, excluding University Holidays.
What if I cannot access the class with the information emailed to me?
WVU eCampus will lock after 3 unsuccessful attempts to login. Please Reset your account at http://login.wvu.edu. For additional help, refer to the tutorial under the User Guide option on this page.
Contact the Information Technology Services (ITS) Help Desk at (304) 293-4444. You will need to state that you are a non-credit student and provide your WVU ID number.
What if I can login to eCampus, but I cannot view course content?
If you are able to login to eCampus and have issues viewing course content:
- Go to https://ecampus.wvu.edu and scroll down the page and click Supported Browsers to read Computer Requirements, Compatible Browsers and Web Browsers.
- Run a Browser Check by clicking on Configure your Browser and Computer.

Are there any special computer requirements?
All computer requirements are specified in course descriptions. Online courses in eCampus will offer free software downloads for Adobe Acrobat Reader, Java, Macromedia Flash Player, and Quicktime if needed for the course.
Specific Class Questions
I can’t find the class to become a substitute teacher/nurse or renew my substitute teacher/nurse certification.
WVU Continuing Professional Education has discontinued the 5202 Substitute Teacher/Nurse Training classes. The West Virginia Department of Education offers a free training for those who wish to become substitute teachers in West Virginia. More information about the schedule can be found at http://wvde.state.wv.us/elearning/schedule.php.
Registration is through the WVDE site and check the link above for the dates of the next offered session. Those interested will need a WVLearns account and will go to https://wveis.k12.wv.us/certportal/ to complete the information requested by WVDE Teacher Licensure and Effectiveness. The login and password you are assigned from this office will be the same login and password you use for WVLearns.

Are online Forensic Science classes still free?
No - The NIJ grant ended in February of 2014. See http://continuinged.wvu.edu for current prices.
Standard/Online Continuing Professional Education Courses Refund/Cancellations must be in writing. Requests must be made within seven (7) business days from the date of registration.
Mail your refund/cancellation requests for standard/online CPE and on-site CPE courses to: WVU Continuing Professional Education, P.O. Box 6800, Morgantown, WV, 26506 or email the request to WVUEnrich@mail.wvu.edu.
On-Site Continuing Professional Education Courses
**Please see individual class refund policies in the course description for your particular in-person course.** For the majority of courses, full refunds up to the day before the course is offered will be granted.
CPASS Lifetime Activities
World Education Career Training Courses
Registration in a class does not automatically reserve the right to a refund. If the Lifetime Activities Program cancels a class for any reason, a full or pro-rated refund will be issued to the participant. Full refunds will not be made unless classes are cancelled due to insufficient enrollment or extenuating circumstances on a case by case basis. No refunds will be made due to scheduling conflicts, on the part of the participant. A $25 processing fee, per class enrolled,
will be charged for all other refunds at the discretion of the Lifetime Activities Program Director if the request is made at least 10 days prior to the start of the class. No refunds or credits will be issued for participant withdrawal after the start of the class. To cancel a registration for class you must contact the office at 304-293-0859 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
A full refund minus the cost of any completed coursework will be made to any student who cancels his/her program within 72 hours (until midnight of the third day excluding Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays) after he/she has been given access to the program. After that point, there are no refunds. Please contact World Education at 855-201-6910.
A student has three (3) days from the enrollment date to request a refund. However, if the online course material has been accessed, and the reference materials have been opened, no refund will be granted.
Additionally, there are no extensions granted for courses. If a student does not complete the course by the end date on the welcome letter, there will be additional fees for extended access. Extensions must be requested within 30 days after the original end date of the class. Extension request made past this date cannot be honored.
Refunds may be requested at any time. Class transfers/extensions may be requested at any time.

Can I register for a CPE course and pay later?
No - Payment is expected before or at the time of registration.
- Credit Card using online registration through our website.
- Checks from Employer Assistance Programs and personal checks/money orders can be mailed to us - (email WVUEnrich@mail.wvu.edu for invoice and mailing address).
Registrations will be submitted by staff when full payment is received (for check/money order).
We do not accept financial aid/vouchers.
Do you offer financial aid?
There is tuition assistance, scholarships and loan programs available with the ProTrain and World Education courses. Please go to http://protrainedu.org/ or http://www.worldeducation.net/ to learn more about these loan programs.
Employer Assistance Programs are accepted in the form of checks. Checks should be made out to West Virginia University.
No other financial aid assistance, voucher, or tuition waiver will be accepted for non-credit courses.
Is there a certificate awarded?
Once the instructor notifies WVU Continuing Professional Education that a student has completed the requirements for the course, a Proof of Completion Certificate is signed by the Dean and emailed to the student's email address that was provided in their registration profile.
If a student requires a hardcopy certificate for an employer, WVU Continuing Professional Education will fax the Proof of Completion Certificate to the designated office. If a student requires a hard copy of the certificate, there is now a $10 charge and the following form http://continuinged.wvu.edu/forms/CertificateRequestForm.pdf needs to be submitted.
Why can't I register in Windows 8?
For Windows 8 users, please be aware there are two versions of Internet Explorer on your device - Metro and Desktop. To use our registration site, you must use the Desktop version of Internet Explorer, and not the Metro version. To start the Desktop version, click on or touch the Desktop tile on the Start screen. Then you will see the Internet Explorer icon in the task bar. This is the Desktop version which should be used for registration. If you are in Internet Explorer and the URL address is at the bottom of the screen, you are in the Metro version, should close it and open the desktop version following the instructions above.
