Crime Scene Investigation The role of the crime scene investigator in a criminal investigation is to document, preserve, and collect evidence. It requires an extreme attention to detail and keen powers of observation. In this class students will learn how to document crime scenes through photography, note taking, and sketching. In addition students will learn how properly package evidence and maintain the chain of custody. The morning session for high school students begins at 10am and ends at 12pm. Classes can be cancelled with a full refund two weeks prior to the start of each class. **The Forensic Science Saturdays classes incorporate case studies and mock crime scenes into the curricula to illustrate practical applications of what is learned in class. These case studies and mock crime scenes are often of a violent nature. Parental discretion is advised.**

Firearm Identification Firearms are manufactured with tools which impart characteristics onto the gun. These manufactured characteristics are transferred to the ammunition components that come into contact with the gun when it’s fired. In this class participants will learn how to measure and compare the characteristics on a fired bullet to determine the type(s) of guns that could have been responsible for shooting it and how to identify a bullet back to a particular firearm. The morning session for high school students begins at 10am and ends at 12pm. They will collect evidence, analyze it, and make determinations based on their analysis.  The morning session for high school students begins at 10am and ends at 12pm.
